Visit Orlando's Michelin partnership: Financial details emerge

The initial three-year contract between Michelin North America and Visit Orlando outlining the financial terms behind the Michelin Guide’s presence in Florida has drawn renewed attention after food columnist Carlos Frias published a blog post examining the deal. 

Though the contract was signed in 2021 and has been accessible publicly, Frias’ May 1 post on CarlosFrias.com invited renewed scrutiny by framing the arrangement in economic terms.

The post features an image of the Michelin Man with dollar signs in his eyes: "Michelin finds many ways to make money in the state of Florida while issuing stars in its Michelin Guide," it reads.
